Take \u201cunsolicited\u201d versus \u201cunwanted,\u201d for example. Seemingly interchangeable, yet legally distinct.<\/p>\n Also, legal terms rarely have direct, one-to-one equivalents in other languages<\/strong>. A small mistake (e.g., using the wrong term for \u201cdata subject\u201d) can trigger misinterpretations and create misaligned legal obligations.<\/p>\n Over time, certain terms have been refined to clear up misunderstandings and make sure they fit the legal frameworks they\u2019re part of.
